“Play is the work of childhood. When children play, they are experiencing the world with their entire being.”

By: Rudolf Steiner

Experiential learning, also known as S.T.E.A.M, is the integration of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics where children actively participate in the learning process and don’t just use one discipline. In Preschool children have an instinctive desire to learn, discover and try new things. Their natural curiosity is attracted to anything they are unfamiliar with, so that makes children interested in trying everything. This interest in learning can be taken advantage of in schools and at home to maximize a child’s development, but only when done properly. Experiential learning demands effort, attention and planning, because children participate in activities and experience things for themselves, therefore, the lesson becomes a more personalized exercise.

Experiential learning offers a fun alternative to traditional classroom teaching that can improve the following areas of growth and learning:

  • Memory retention
  • Life-skill development
  • Self- esteem development
  • Curiosity to learn
